Site-specific art makes a direct
contribution to architecture and interior design.
Commissioned art allows me to work with space and
abstraction within an architectural framework. For instance
a tone-on-tone mural is a perfect way of integrating art
with architecture. Using a collaborative process involving
space, I bring into play the relevant styles and
treatments from my diverse portfolio as a point of
departure. The dynamic elements of site-specific work are a
result of the parameters and concerns of the project which
the artwork must address. Artwork redefines and completes
the ‘background’ of interior space, making it more memorable.
